Warilla Child Care Centre and Staff Warilla Child Care Centre is owned and operated by Shellharbour City Council and is part of the Community Planning & Strategies Division. We opened in 1974 and have been sponsored by Council since this date. The Staff of Warilla Child Centre believe that children have a right to quality childcare, which supports individual development. The centre aims to provide a happy, safe and secure environment for children, staff and families. The centre does this through creating positive relationships with children and families. The centre creates a safe and secure environment where experiences are developmentally appropriate and safe. The centre collaborates with families to create a link between the home and the centre. | |
Whilst the centre is a child-orientated place it is also the place of employment for staff. As such, it should aim to be a happy and secure workplace with opportunities for continuing staff development. Staff are encouraged to further their education and training through study, workshops, in-services and collaboration with other professionals. Staff show respect for each other as individuals, recognising and respecting each persons individual philosophy, ideas and thoughts and using these to enhance the team environment. We promote positive and open communication between staff, families and children. The staff are qualified and experienced in early childhood education. They are professional and committed to creating a high quality service for children and families. The staff are passionate about the importance of early childhood learning and development and building relationships with families and the community.
