This program targets young parents in the 14 -19 year age range in the Shellharbour area. It has developed a positive reputation for providing both an early intervention and a prevention focus for young families.
Young parents are offered support to develop their parenting skills as well as the opportunity to undertake TAFE accredited training to become Peer Educators and presenters of Talking Realities ... Young Parenting, a program developed in South Australia for high school students to highlight some of the realities of young parenthood and to assist young people to make informed life choices.

Some of the aims of the program are:
- To provide a peer education program and the opportunity for young parents to support, educate, expand, consolidate and combine their Early Childhood Development knowledge.
- To provide educational and vocational pathways for young parents by accrediting the peer education training.
- To provide information about the role of being a parent and the responsibilities and value that is involved in being a parent.
- To provide information about child development in a strength-based approach that identifies the strengths and positive attributes of families.
- To provide information to young parents about community networks and supports that will assist in positive family building and well being.
- To build the capacity of the Talking Realities program to provide a number of supported pathways for young families to participate in education and work skill achievement.
