Indigenous Pre-schools & Playgroups
COOINDA Family Mornings Cooinda are free Aboriginal Playgroups for all Indigenous family members to enjoy with their pre-school aged children. They are held at Albion Park Rail, Barrack Heights and Koonawarra. Transport to and from the venue can be arranged if needed. A healthy morning tea is also provided. Noogaleek Childrens Centre and Winnanggay Pre-school are Aboriginal Children’s Services catering for Indigenous and non-Indigenous children. They offer developmentally and culturally appropriate programs, focusing on numeracy and literacy, and to educate and promote pride and appreciation of Aboriginal culture. Noogaleek is for children aged 0-6 and Winnanggay is for children aged 3-6.

The Illawarra Aboriginal Medical Service provides a wide variety of services including medical, dental, substance counselling and others including those listed below. They have offices in Wollongong and Dapto.

The Early Childhood Health Service is available Tuesdays & Wednesdays from the Wollongong and Dapto Offices. IAMS Doctors and Registered Nurses are available Monday to Friday.
The service provides newborn examinations, immunisations, advice on feeding, diet, behaviour and development, hearing checks, Ear, Nose & Throat Specialist and Paediatric Clinics.
