| Early Childhood Centres are staffed by experienced Midwife/Child & Family qualified nurses. This is a FREE service provided to parents/carers by NSW Health. Child & Family Nurses offer support, information and recommended health checks for your baby, as outlined in the Personal Health Record (blue book). Health checks include growth and development of the child, information and appropriate resources relevant to the age of the child and concerns of the parent/carer. We offer a newborn assessment as a home visit or you can visit us in one of the cliincs provided throughout the Illawarra (see list below). Having a baby is both a physical and emotional experience. Child & Family Nurses work with the parent/carer, providing help with mothercraft eg: feeding, settling, sleep, growth,d evelopment, safety and behaviour. At the same time the Child & Family Nurses provide help, information and referral to other resources that support the physical and mental health of the parent/carer. We also run groups for parents/carers of 0-6 months old babies, pram walking groups 0 -24 months old, and Drop-in Breastfeeding groups. For more information, please see General Support or phone Warilla 4296 4200 or Albion Park 4256 2195 to enquire. | |
